As most of you know by now, we are always happy to show you new brands and emerging designers that we think can make an impact in the men’s underwear, swimwear and loungewear industry. So today, we will show you a new brand from the Canary Islands called COBIANC. Many of you will find the name familiar, especially those of you loyal follower of Men and Underwear! Yes guys, your guess is correct, COBIANC is a brand launched by model Jorge Cobian! The Spanish model is the latest of models launching their own clothing line and in his case the very first collection is men’s swimwear.

COBIANC was created with an intention to create a beautiful and great quality product with very high demand in the Canary Islands. At the same time the product should follow the “slow fashion” movement and a general eco-friendly and greener fashion approach. COBIANC and other Slow Fashion brands, choose slower production schedules, smaller collections in terms of styles and items produced, and close to zero waste designs. This movement is growing in popularity and it comes to a direct competition to the “fast fashion” that dominates high streets for years. Slow fashion brands aim to reduce the textile waste, so instead of chasing trends, they design enduring styles, most often with layering options, and create more classic and versatile pieces.

COBIANC’s first collection is inspired by the home of Jorge, the Canary Islands, taking the essence of its lifestyle worldwide. The different colours and textures reflect the variety of colours, landscapes and beaches of the Spanish archipelago. The brand launched with 10 swimwear designs all in a swim briefs style. They are all produced locally at the Canary Islands in very limited numbers.

COBIANC has launched this week and their website is still under construction. We got our hands though on some exclusive imagery with the model himself posing in the designs, photographed by a friend of Men and Underwear, photographer MDZ management. The official eShop of Jorge Cobian’s brand is designed as we speak and should officially launch next week. Until then you should be able to see and order the swimwear from their current website.
