You all know that Men and Underwear is a keen supporter of new brands! Today’s article is about Le Beau Tom, a French men’s underwear brand, which, we think could make an interesting addition to the world’s underwear market. The company Le Beau Tom & Co was founded by a sweet and nice guy, Arnaud, in parallel with his main activity, working as a steward in a French airline. The name of the brand, as many of you have already suspected, is a play with the English word “bottom”.

Le Beau Tom is based and designed in France and manufactured in Portugal. The fabrics have an OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 verification, woven and dyed in Portugal from cotton imported from the United States. The collection comprises briefs and boxers in four colours, all made with a medium-weight 92% cotton and 8% elastane blend fabric. The initial colours of the collection are four and are presented with some funny and unusual names, such as Greendr, Sendnude, Bluejob and Bl@ck.

Le Beau Tom is a gay-owned and operated brand. Its founder came up with the name 12 years ago. It was that time in his life when he accepted his sexuality and became familiar with the gay culture. It was also that time when he started his first ever relationship with a guy, the same time when the idea of starting his own underwear brand came to him. Several years later and after a break-up and a new relationship, Arnaud decided that he couldn’t keep his dream on hold any longer. He realised life is short and that the best time to start making your dreams a reality is now.

He wanted his brand to be a nod to the gay community, and the name “Le Beau Tom” has already carried a strong connotation. But what would make his brand really unique was for the product to represent himself: Simple, caring and joyful.

The silhouettes are simple yet efficient and comfortable. Le Beau Tom cares about its customers and the environment: great customer service, compostable shipment packaging, recyclable wrapping paper, going to the post office on foot… The joyful names and choice of colours express a brand that is sexy, chic, sober and funny at the same time. According to Arnaud, “Life is too short to be too serious”.
