Today’s Brief Talk is with model Josh Rusniak. Josh is a newcomer in the modelling industry, he only started six months ago, but we think has a great potential to become one of the big names in the world of men’s fashion. Despite his very young age (he is only 19 years old) he has already collaborated with some great photographers, work with which we have the pleasure to show you below. We have had already two features with Josh in Men and Underwear and hoping to have a lot more in the future. The response we got for both was great, which is one of the reasons we wanted to find out a bit more about his life, his dreams and of course what underwear he likes best! Enjoy the exclusive Q&A of Josh Rusniak with Men and Underwear.
Name: Josh Rusniak
From: Wisconsin USA
Lives: Whitewater, WI USA during school year in college
Hello Josh! Can you tell our readers a little about yourself please?
Hello! Born and raised in the Upper Midwest from Wisconsin I attend the University of Wisconsin and majoring in business. I am getting my NASM certification to become a personal trainer this coming fall. I am huge Badger and Green Bay Packer fan.
When and how did you start modelling?
I started modelling in December of 2017 when I signed with my manager, Mike McMullen. I am currently signed with 2 agencies FS Agency in Toronto, Canada and DAS Miami. [editor’s note: You can check his portfolio here]
I have done test shoots all over Wisconsin and Chicago. I was recently in New York, last month and shot with some of the best photographers in NYC for a week. I am exploring all my options for the fall on whether to return to school, move to NYC or LA. I will be moving to Miami, Florida in January of 2019 and pursing my dream with DAS Miami for the winter fashion season.
What was your best experience as a model?
That is a great question. I have had many great experiences with each photographer that I have shot with. I am like a sponge and will learn from everyone. I am teachable and willing to learn from each one. I have been given an incredible opportunity to travel all over the Midwest and recently NYC. I had the chance to go to NYC for the week and get a first hand look to see if I liked the modelling business or not. Let’s just say the experience has changed my life and I am more focused now than ever before to make this a life changing career decision. I have to give a shout out to my manager because without him this would have never happened.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years from today?
I have many goals and very focused. I will have my college degree, my personal training business on the side and modelling in all over the world. I plan to be signed and working with the best agencies. My goal is to be in Milan, Paris, London, and the Pacific rim. I work with great agencies and I want to expand and only work with the best in the industry. I have very high standards for myself and who I work with.
Time to talk underwear! How often do you shop for new underwear?
Good question and being a college student I have limited budget. But I have been very fortunate to collaborate and try on many brands the past few months. I have bought my fair share but I have tried on many new brands and ones you never heard of before.
What is you favourite underwear style and colour?
I don’t have one style that I like. I have gotten so many good ones recently through collaboration that they are all good in their own ways. I like boxers or boxer briefs. I like red and blue, they are my favourite colours.
Do you have any favourite brands?
I have recently started working with Tani USA and love them. But I am old school and love Calvins and Ralph. But, I am willing to work and partner with anyone and have great collaboration with. So hit me up on social media or talk to my manager. We can work something out and its a win win for all!
Thank you Josh, it’s been a pleasure talking to you!
Thanks so much!
