Men’s underwear brand CR7 by Cristiano Ronaldo has just released a new campaign called Colour Splash to mark the launch of its fifth underwear collection. With photos showing colour pigments splashed across his body, this campaign, reflects the fact that our body is a canvas that can be transformed with colour and fashion.
Ronaldo saud that this campaign was inspired by the way they design the collection. Each season they start with a pair of white trunks as a blank canvas and then add the colour and design elements.
On why colour is such an important part of the collection, Ronaldo says, “Colour can be powerful in inspiring people to come alive and express themselves, and clothing and fashion is a great way to do this. Personally, I am inspired by the vibrant colours of my home country of Madeira, by the many colours I see when I look out on to a stadium full of supporters and I prefer to wear colourful clothes as they put me in a great, positive mood. I wanted both the SS16 collection and the campaign to reflect this. […] Our bodies are a blank canvas and underwear is the first thing we put on, so why not start the day well and add a splash of colour to your life!”
The new Spring Summer 2016 underwear collection of the brand is indeed all about colour. You will find new designs in all their lines (Fashion, Boys, Luxury and Basic) in some very nice combinations and by a quick look we had on their official online store they are running out fast!
Behind the production and distribution of CR7 is Danish company JBS Textile Group, with over 75 years of experience in manufacturing high quality clothing.

Lovely campaign, don’t you think? Its one of the very few times we see underwear brands spoiling their underwear in order to get the meaning of their campaign across… and it works!
On shooting the campaign Cristiano Ronaldo comments, “It was really fun and it was good to be taken out of my comfort zone. I do a lot of shoots but this really was something that I’ve never done before and I didn’t know what to expect! At first I was nervous – it’s not every day that you have people throwing coloured pigment at you- but after five minutes I felt completely at home! By the end of the shoot it was everywhere- in my hair, all over my body, in my eyes! But it was a lot of fun and I love the final result.”
Here are some behind the scenes photos from the shoot for you.
